Hi, I am an Electronics Technologist and I am working in canada on postgraduation work permit which will expire in April2006.
I am planning to apply for Immigration right now(in Buffalo). The only thing i am concerned about is I am plannin to study in University from September 2006 so will there be any problem to get study permit while my PR application is in process at Buffalo.
I asked CIC people about it and they are like it wont have any negative effect on your study permit application how true is it?
Thanks in advance, Premal

Hello Premal,
Unfortunately, we cannot provide a response regarding the immigration application process.
It is really at the discretion of the Visa Officer whether or not you will get a study permit.
You can find information on changing the conditions of your stay here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/visitor.html
You may also want to continue to contact the CIC Call Centre with any additional questions here:
1-888-242-2100 (In Canada Only)
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
