IMM1000 Immigrant Visa and Record of Landing
Dear Friends,
Though i have yet to LAND,
I would SPECIFICALLY like to know the following information from especially just landed immigrants or experts in this matter.
(Please no 'beat around the bush' types!)

1)Recently the IMM1000 form contains details on Individual Income Tax Return or not?

2)How many pages in this issued IMM1000 form?- 4-5 pages?,exluding the other documents which follow with this form.

3)Besides the immigrant visa dn record of landing,there are 5 steps to fill?
Are they to be filled by the immigrant candidate before landing or not?
Is the taxable income in Indian Rs. or have to convert to CAD?

4)The 5 steps are:-INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX RETURN
STEP1-IDENTIFICATION.
STEP2-GOODS AND SERVICES TAX(GST)APPLICATION.
STEP3-TOTAL INCOME
STEP4-TAXABLE INCOME, with Foreign property reporting.
STEP5-NON-REFUNDABLE TAX CREDITS, with Donations and gifts.

5)Please inform to me how to fill this form?

6)Is this information mandatory?

7)How much of Indian income is taxable under Canadian law?
(for eg. in India,income upto Rs.60,000 and now upto Rs.1lakh is not taxed!)

8)For a journalist with fulltime and part-time,freelance income can i fill it up based on what i get?

9)Do i have to attach the Form 16 along with this form or receipt of paying ITax in India?

I shall be obliged if i can get postive/concrete answers to my above queries with some links for sorting out this matter thru eg. on the net,etc.

Hello MJ,

People who became permanent residents on or after June 28, 2002 were not issued an IMM1000. There is no longer an IMM1000 and filling out
income tax returns is not relevant for someone who is newly landing.

This forum has cleared my doubts which were otherwise not answered by any other forums i have joined !Just reply to my query on the residency rules in Canada and how soon i can return,stay and move back to Canada?
