I may have to brush me up before I am offered with a joteaching job in Canada, especially when it comes to ELT jobs.
PLease find the right avenue for me that can fulfil my dream of becoming a teacher in Canada. .
What should be my "HOME WORK" ,if I am to find myself in a teaching position in your country.I trust to hear from you in this regad,

It is great that you are going to do this preparatory work before you arrive, it is something that all newcomers should be doing to prepare for the opportunities and realities of the Canadian labour market.
The teaching profession is a regulated profession. This means that the requirements to practise are set by the provincial and territorial regulatory bodies.
Our focus is Ontario, so I will give you some specific information for Ontario. If you are going to another province, read the information on this web site:
Information for foreign-trained secondary school teachers http://www.cicic.ca/professions/4141en.asp
In Ontario, teachers are regulated by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). You can read this guide to Access to the Teaching Profession in Ontario for a good deal of information about what you'll need to before and after you arrive:
http://www.settlement.org/sys/guides_detail.asp?faq_id=4000538
This guide will give you the information you need to know becoming a certified teacher in Ontario. It is not an easy process, but it is possible. Much of what you will need to do you will only be able to do once you arrive in Ontario.
The OCT web site is here:
http://www.oct.ca/en/default_e.asp
You'll want to download and read the Registration Guide for Teachers Educated Outside Ontario - This guide is for individuals who have completed a program of professional education outside of the province of Ontario or outside of Canada who wish to be certified to teach in Ontario. http://www.oct.ca/en/MembershipServices/RegistrationGuides/Outside_Ontario_e.pdf (Adobe Acrobat PDF format)
NOTE: This document changes each year, so use the current one only as a guide. You'll need to download and use a new one next year after you arrive.
Something to keep in mind is that there are many opportunities for experienced teachers even though you may not yet have your certification from OCT. You can find more information here:
http://ottawa-worldskills.org/teaching_opportunities.htm
This is the web site of The Foreign Trained Teachers Association in Ottawa, Ontario. This is a group that seeks to inform new Canadians with a teaching background to the process of Ontario teaching certification.
They are affiliated with a non-profit organization called Ottawa WorldSkills. They currently run a program called Alternative Teacher Accreditation Programme for Teachers with International Experience (ATAPTIE). They are an organization you will want to contact to find out more about their program and how they might be able to inform you about what you can do before you arrive.
Find out more about this program here:
http://educ.queensu.ca/~ataptie/pages/directory.html
There are other programs for foreign-trained teachers that are hoping to get started in Toronto in the coming year, but they are not up and running yet. Keep an eye on Settlement.Org for updated information about when these programs launch.
The web sites above should give you a good starting point for what you'll need to do to start preparing. Feel free to post any specific questions you might have in this discussion forum for us or others to answer.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

"Thanks" seems to be only a cliche when it comes to my feelings for your esteemed organisation. I asked the same question to innumerable people with no result. You are the one who answered to the question and that too , meticulously.
However, I have a few questions more in store.
It is frequently heard that" there is hardly any opportunity for the non-native speakers of English Language to secure an English Languag Teaching job in Canada.."Please tell about the veracity of the above quoted remark.
To add, is there any alternative career that a foreign trained and non-native speaker can persue?
Finally, how could I know about the curriculumand teaching methodologies followed in Canadian Secondary schools? Hope you will oblige me with your generous service . Partha

My wife is an ESL (English as a Second Language Teacher) and she tells me there are many non-native speakers working as ESL Teachers. In her organization alone there are several non-Canadian born teachers.
Some *private* language schools may be less likely to hire non-native speakers as teachers, but there are definite opportunities for all ESL teachers in Ontario.
Good luck
