Hi , new member here :)

looked through the whole forum but could not find an answer.

My question is this:

Im a canadian citizen, and rent an apt with my wife and children which has utilities included.

We pay $50 a month extra for our ac units (2 window units).

A few weeks ago our super was in doing his annual inspection. he says to me afterwards that we have to pay extra for our apartment size dishwasher and small chest freezer.

I looked in our lease (which has expired) and found no mention of this.

the only thing it said was that the lessee is responsible for any additional utilities or services, and their costs, not mentioned or initialed.

this seems REALLY vague to me.

ive also looked around and found that they cannot ask for the 50, just the cost of the actual hydro.

is this correct?

i dont mind paying the $ for the hydro, but im not paying anymore than i have to.

IF they are in the right, then so be it, i will pay.

but not if i dont have to :) (Edit- Ive done the math, and the two appliances use about $6 of hydro a month during the on-peak most expensive time. And thats assuming the dishwasher is run every day, which it isnt. And they want
$50 for the two.. and just today i received a voice mail from the rental company in which they flat out said it isnt for profit, they are just covering the hydro..... ?!?!?
