How to Search

Settlement.Org is a directory of articles, guides, government forms, links, and much more. The information on Settlement.Org is organized into topics. These topics help to organize the information for you.

On the top of every Settlement.Org page, you will find a simple keyword search box. You can type in the word(s) relating to what you want to find, and get results.

You can limit your search by Keyword.

Search for one or more words or a specific phrase. Here are some examples:

Keyword(s) Search Results
buy house All items that contain the words "buy" AND "house"
buy OR house All items that contain the words "buy" OR "house"
"buy house" All items that contain the exact phrase "buy house"

This search allows for advanced "boolean" searching. You can limit your search using terms like AND, OR and NOT. You can also use the * symbol to look for parts of a word (e.g. residen* will search for residents, residency, resident etc.)

If you do not find useful results think of different ways to describe what you are looking for. For example, if you want information about buying a house, you might also search for "home ownership."

Understanding Your Search Results

Your search results will appear as a numbered list of items. They are ranked according to how closely they match your search request.

Each item has a title and a brief description. You can click on the title to see a longer description.
