CMA Accreditation Program

There are five components to the CMA accreditation program. They are:

Depending on your education and professional affiliation, you may be eligible for exemption or advanced standing for some of these requirements. Click here to find out if you may be eligible for exemption or advanced standing from any CMA accreditation requirement.

Many of the requirements for accreditation as a CMA can be completed outside of Canada, although there are several requirements that must be completed in Ontario. See the following sections for more information about each requirement.

 

XAffiliation
Your affiliation is your membership in a professional accounting body.
XAdvanced Standing
Advanced standing means you are given credit for previously completed academic studies, examinations, work experience, and/or professional affiliation. When you receive advanced standing, you are exempted from a CMA requirement or a portion of a CMA requirement.
XExemption
Release from a requirement based on previously completed studies, examinations, work experience, or professional affiliation.
