Path Four

You have a university degree from a non-recognized university, or

you don’t have a university degree.

CMA Ontario has a mature student policy for individuals who wish to pursue the CMA designation but who do not have a university degree or whose degree is not recognized by CMA Ontario. To be eligible under this policy, you must:

  • be 25 years of age or older
  • have at least five years of verifiable management accounting experience
  • be eligible for enrolment in degree credit courses at a recognized university

If this describes you, contact the Accreditation Department at CMA Ontario to confirm your eligibility. If you are accepted under this policy, you must complete all 16 prerequisite studies topics at the university level. However, you do not need to complete a university degree.

If you are not eligible under the mature student policy, you need to complete a university degree at a recognized university and, within your degree studies, cover the CMA prerequisite studies requirement.
