Canada's Federal Skilled Worker Cap Reached
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has reached its cap of 10,000 applicants in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) for July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012. CIC will begin a new FSW cap-counting period on July 1, 2012.

CIC Changing the Interim Federal Health Program
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is changing the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Effective June 30, 2012 the IFHP will end coverage of supplemental health-care benefits.

CIC Niagara Falls Offices Have Moved
CIC Niagara Falls and the Backlog Reduction Office (BRO) Niagara Falls have moved to a new office at 4318 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Tehran Visa Office Closed
Effective immediately, the Visa and Immigration Section at the Embassy of Canada in Tehran, Iran is closed. Services have been transferred to the Ankara, Turkey office.

PR Card Direct Mail-Out Project
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is launching a pilot project to improve services for newcomers. Starting April 30, 2012, if you apply for a Permanent Resident (PR) card you may receive your card by mail.
