How can I pay for health care in my first 3 months in Ontario, or if I don't have OHIP?

While you are waiting for OHIP to cover you, or if you don't have OHIP, you can buy insurance. You can also look for free and low-cost health services at a Community Health Centre.

Private Health Insurance

Some insurance companies sell packages that will cover your health costs during this 3-month period. These insurance plans are designed for people who do not have OHIP.

Community Health Centres

Some Community Health Centres have health services to people who do not have an OHIP card.

Services at CHCs are free or you may need to pay a small fee.
