This short video explains how public libraries can help students and their parents learn how easy it is to get a library card, participate in storytelling and join the Summer Reading Club.

These videos are each available in 17 languages and cover the following topics:

Getting a Library Card

To get a library card, you need one piece of official identification such as your Immigration documents. And you need proof of your address such as a bank statement, a rental lease, drivers' license or a utility bill. Learn more with this short video.

Story Time at the Library

Storytelling helps young children get ready for school. Look for flyers or ask a librarian for the day and time of storytelling in your library. Anyone can come but it is very popular so you may have to register ahead of time.

Summer Reading Club

Your library has special programs to help elementary school students keep up their reading in the summer. It's called the Summer Reading Club and it's easy to join. All your child has to do is go to the library and complete a form. And regular reading over the summer keeps your child’s reading skills sharp. It gives him or her a strong start to school in September.
