Change to Employment Insurance Waiting Period

As of January 1, 2017, the Employment Insurance (EI) waiting period will change from 2 weeks to 1 week. The change will increase the eligible period to receive EI by 1 week. This change will not affect the speed in which you can expect the first payment to arrive.
